Helping Others Prosper through Empowerment (H.O.P.E.) is a program that provides educational and emotional support for children in China’s orphanages. The program actively recruits volunteers who are looking for an opportunity to make a difference in the lives of China’s orphans.

Join us for our second annual run/walk at Riverside Park on November 8th at 11am. Following the success of last year's event and in preparation for volunteer trips to China in the coming year, we are holding our second annual run/walk to help raise much needed funds. Help our international non-profit organization continue to bring hope to China's orphans through the efforts of our dedicated volunteers.

This past summer we were able to send our first volunteer to Tianjin Children's Home. Rebecca is a student at Duke University who is fluent in Chinese and is participating with HOPE through Duke's Engage Project. This allows students to do community service internationally while receiving college credit towards their major. Rebecca kept a blog of her experience and we are very proud of all that she has accomplished.

Four H.O.P.E. volunteers traveled to Shanghai, China. They returned with a sense of accomplishment and inspirational stories about their experience and the children of Shanghai Children's Home.

H.O.P.E. operates as part of the China Initiative, a program of the Gladney Center for Adoption.

When a child reaches the age of only six years old they are considered special needs which greatly reduces their chances of being adopted.
